The Advantages of Having a Fast Wi-Fi Connection at School

   The Internet has been around for atleast more than a decade now and its used for many purposes like watching, searching, gaming, music, and many more. Years later, Wi-Fi connection came and people use the Internet anywhere and it doesn't need a computer or laptop plugged in to a wall to use the Internet. Having this so called Wi-Fi at school is  advantageous for us, especially us college students. because most of the time we use the Internet on our assignments, programming, research papers, etc. And students, especially college students always bring their gadgets to school so having this Wi-Fi will allow the students use their gadgets effectively.

   Let's begin with its pros and cons, first we'll go with the pros, we can use it to have communication with our groupmates when we are having a group activity for the day or the next day. Next is we could research our topics in our research papers on the spot. We don't need to go anywhere we'll just stay where we are and search for our references needed for our topics, it also helps us to recieve school notices easily like Google Classroom and Gmail to know what's happening in classes and in school. And having Internet everywhere is a step to the future. While its cons are the students will be easily distracted because of easy access on the Internet. Because it's the internet anything is there so yeah, distractions. They could also use this inappropriately like going to restricted sites but knowing our school, they would have restrictions so the students could focus more on the schoolwork than just using it for useless things and pornographic content. And lastly not every source in the Internet is 100% accurate because it could be edited by people. For instance, in Wikipedia, anyone can edit what's written there so it could lead to wrong info and wrong answers, making it unreliable at some times.

   So is it really advantageous despite of its pros and cons? For me, yes its still an advantage because its still good to have access anywhere and it gets the job done even with its negative effects. And these negative effects are also useless because most of the school Wi-Fi is secured and blocked every site that causes distractions and inappropriate content such as porn, social media sites, etc. And I think every school should have internet because it lessens the hassle and time consumed and more efficient for learning and less stressful to go in places just to search for info. And this is really a big help on our IT subjects as well especially for programming because not everything is taught in our classes so just we go search and study ourselves the needed codes and techniques in order to run our programs properly and efficiently. We are lucky to have such technology in our hands and I think this is one step to the future when we have fast connections as well and replace the slow ones to be more efficient, improved learning, less hassle and less time consuming for us students and teachers as well.
